More buildings in Côte-des-Neiges are getting a food waste/compost collection!

Our team (including some brand new team members!) is currently working on the next phase of implementation for the food waste (compost) collection in Côte-des-Neiges. Depending on your address, buildings with 9 units or more, along with businesses, public institutions and non-profit organisations will be receiving brown bins so they can participate in this important collection. By participating, you can help divert food waste from landfills and allow it to be transformed into useful compost.

As a reminder, in Côte-des-Neiges all buildings with 8 units or less already have access to this collection. Please get in touch with us if you need a small brown bin for your house or apartment!

Which areas will be getting the new collection this year?

Most of the addresses located in the area bounded by Macdonald Avenue to the west, Queen Mary Road to the south, ch. de la Côte-des-Neiges to the east and the northern limit of the borough to the north will be getting access to this collection this year.

Addresses within this area which are south of Van Horne Avenue will be implemented first, with the collection beginning June 2nd, 2023. Addresses located within this area which are north of Van Horne Avenue will start the collection on October 6th, 2023.

Once we’re done, this means every building in this area of Côte-des-Neiges will have access to the food waste/compost collection!

You can see the details on the map below:

Spring 2023: the collection will start on June 2nd, 2023 for addresses in this area. Fall 2023: the collection will start on October 6th, 2023 for addresses in this area.
